It is quite obvious that ABE Saavedra is Bush's administrations lean on HISD. After all, why would a guy who was a hair away from conviction on major federal crimes in Corpus Christi have received the leadership position of one of America's largest school districts? And what is the clueless board of education doing besides raking in donations to their political campaigns and staying quiet? Dr. Saavedra seems to hate anything HISD. He is cutting the overtime of lowly paid maintenance workers so contracts can be awarded to his friends at the Houston Business Partnership. Never mind that schools will use tax dollars to pay a lot more for less as they contract with outside vendors who overall have a poor track record of service and zero follow-up. How convenient with just school a week away to set up a situation of total chaos.
It is time for the citizens of Houston to trail the money - how much of it goes directly to Saavedra & the board?

Mayor White: just don't go!
Mayor White believes he is saving us all from vice by attempting, now to the tune of $1 million dollars of taxpayers' money, to close the porn houses and adult clubs.
Mayor White: did you used to frequent these places and that is why you have to purge your guilt? Have you ever been forced to go into one of these places against your will? While you were praying, were you ever disturbed by the sound of disco music from one of these places?
Why don't you spend your own money on this cause and stop wasting ours. Houston has always had adult entertainment - it is one of this city's only claims to fame and one of its only true tourist attractions. Furthermore, the industry that supports these endeavors has more cash than you or Houston will ever see. Do you understand, Mayor White, that many of the citizens you legally represent despise you for taking this stand?
Don't worry - I'm never voting for you again for any office - regardless of how many times you say "Mitt Romney."

Yet for all of his church preachin Jesus-lovin rhetoric, this man is the perpetrator of the worst atrocity possible against Iraqi Christians: their elimination from the home country. How much more?
Is the American public so gullible they are going to let Bush get away with his latest pack of lies, like calling Al Queda in Iraq the same as the group along the border in Pakistan and blaming the failures of HIS war on Tommy Franks? Bush is evil.
